Insider Eye... (Trends we've noticed)

We (the Ladies of BE) love our job. We get to help girls pick out the dress of their dreams! It's the one she's dreamed about since she was  4 years old, walking around with a t-shirt pulled back on her head like a veil (which probably made us look more like nuns than brides, right?), and feeling every bit like a queen. It's such a blast!
Since we see lots of brides and hundreds of gowns each week, we know what brides are asking for right now. Here are a few trends that we love right now...

1. Vintage. Think 50's glamor. Full skirts, belted waists, big bows, and tea-lengths! We're also seeing this play out in hair pieces and accessories.

2. Accessories. Belts are in! Everything from beaded organza sashes to embellished, textured pieces  with flowers. Belts are a great accessory to add to the simple, sophisticated gown that just needs a touch of  bling without going over board! Or add it for just the reception as a fun touch and give the dress a little "umph"!

3. Pockets. This is brilliant, ladies. No more worrying about how to hide the kleenex as you walk down the aisle. But more than practical, it's adorable, and photographs well, and something no one expects!

4. Texture.  We love texture! All different types of applique, organza flowers, Alençon lace, and three dimensional flowers and accents. Texture is great because it adds dimension to the gown, and it hides alot in areas where brides like things hidden (hips, tummy, rear).

5. Changing Necklines. Straps are back! One shoulder, deep-V, and portrait collars are being requested more and more, and we're seeing a lot of this from our designers. They are also coupling this with texture and we are seeing flowery and textured straps and beaded pieces as well.

Every bride's dream is unique and different. Stay true to your own style and taste, your gown should be "you"!  But don't be afraid to experiment! Finding your gown should be fun! So smile lots (that makes every gown look better) and enjoy!

Happy Shopping,
