We just had another beautiful bride in here, planning her wedding for January. We all looked at each other, surprised at how many brides and grooms are going for winter weddings. In the past two weeks, we've have more than a handful of brides planning weddings for winter... We love it! Why not? Just because you're getting married in December, January, or February, doesn't mean it has to feel like winter. Think Florida, Hawaii, or somewhere fabulously tropical. Here are some reasons to think outside of the May-October wedding box.
1.Discounts! In many cases, your vendors will offer discounts for weddings during the winter season because they want your business! The most popular wedding months are June and August followed closely (in that order) with September and October falling right behind them. Most vendors' business will be concentrated in this peak season and they are dead during winter, so they are hungry for business!
2. You won't melt. Let's face it. You're already hot in your gown (and we don't just mean like head-turning, take their breath away hot. You're that too.). Now imagine walking around all afternoon in that, in the sun, during the summer time! Not to mention your groomsmen in pants and jackets. The cooler months will be far more comfortable for being outdoors and you can add some super chic fur wraps for your and your maids.
3. You don't have to share. Getting married in a winter month generally means you won't have to share a date (or maybe even a month!) with anyone else. Summer can be so jam packed with weddings that sometimes guests have to attend more than one in a day! Choosing Dec, Jan, or Feb for your wedding will give you wide open calendar for whatever day you choose, and one that you won't have to share with anyone else.
