We love
watching Oscars, Project Runway, and perusing fashion magazines for the obvious
reasons…keeping up with the newest runway looks. But while we love seeing the
newest trend on Jennifer Lawrence, one question remains: How can you get that exact
look, for your wedding? Well, the answer is, without going to that exact
designer and shelling out thousands of dollars, you probably can’t. But you
might not want to. Sometimes the newest look is stunning, but not very appropriate
for a wedding. But there is good news! You can get a red carpet worthy wedding
dress with similar elements in your perfect wedding dress! Here are current
trends we are seeing now, for 2014:
Plunging V-neck
Stunning
on Charlize Theron, but the plunging neckline may raise eyebrows in a catholic
church. One way to soften this look, and make it more appropriate for bridal,
is to look for a deep v-neck with an allusion neckline.
Softer Two Tones
Thank
you Kate Blanchett for this stunning inspiration! While you might not be able
to recreate the exact beading, on a gown like this, you can recreate that soft
look by going for a soft A-line dress in champagne or blush tones, with pearl
and luminescent beading.
Intricate Bead Work
We are
seeing a lot of fitted metallic dresses coming back in style. But what makes
these dresses truly amazing, are the detailed designs in the bead work. This is
high craftsmanship that will give you that couture element and tons of wow
power!
Banding Motifs
This
look is unique and daring on the red carpet. For a wedding, you can soften this
look by changing the fabric and color of the beading. A lace fitted dress, with
pearl, crystal or even translucent sequins can recreate this look and yet
soften it into a more romantic and feminine style.
Peplums
For
those of you who like clean lines and love to stand out a bit more, the peplum
is a great choice for your wedding day! Remember, to try different fabrics and
keep in mind that different peplums fit various body types depending on their
shape and length.
Upcoming
Looks
Here are
two new looks we would love to see more of: Twist Ruching in a soft A-line
silhouette, Allusion capes on classic well tailored gowns.
